Legalization of Marijuana


According to the Office of National Drug Control Policy, "Marijuana is the most commonly used illicit drug in the United States, with nearly 17 million Americans age 12 and older reporting past‐month use, and 374,000 people entering an emergency room annually with a primary marijuana problem." 

 

Last year marijuana became legalized for recreational use in Washington and Colorado. Ever since the legalization, marijuana has become a hot topic for reporters. Facts and figures are thrown around carelessly creating concern for media consumers who now wonder what the legalization truly means for them and what implications it may have.

With this blog, we intend to uncover the different biases within the news and to, most importantly, "light up" the truth about the legalization of marijuana.
